Jewelry Label Guide: Printing Tiny Tags That Survive Ultrasonic Cleaning
In the jewelry business, the “Dumbbell Label” (or Rattail label) is standard. It wraps around a ring or necklace, displaying the price and a tiny barcode.
But jewelry retailers face a unique problem: Cleaning.
Before a diamond ring goes into the display case, it is often dropped into an Ultrasonic Cleaner filled with warm water and cleaning solution. The machine vibrates at high frequency to remove dirt.
If you printed that label with a standard ribbon, the ink will vibrate right off the plastic.
