How We Guarantee Quality: The TTR Batch Traceability System

The Anatomy of a Batch Number
If you inspect the inside core of any thermal ribbon manufactured by Only Imaging, you will find a printed label containing a unique Batch Number. This is not just a random sequence of digits; it is the DNA of that specific roll.
This tracking number allows our quality control engineers to trace the product back through the entire manufacturing process:

The original Master Jumbo Roll used.

The exact lot of PET base film and chemical resin/wax formulation applied during the coating phase.
The Retained Sample Protocol
We do not just rely on digital records. For every single Master Jumbo Roll we produce, our QA department cuts a physical sample and archives it in our climate-controlled retention room for 12 months.
If a client reports a printing issue on their line, they simply provide us with the batch number from the core. Our engineers immediately pull the retained sample from our archive and run it through our internal testing lab on Zebra, Datamax, and Sato printers.
Root Cause Analysis
By testing the retained sample, we can instantly determine if the issue is a manufacturing defect (such as uneven back-coating) or an environmental issue at the client’s facility (such as a worn printhead, incorrect darkness settings, or a change in label substrate).
This eliminates the frustrating back-and-forth guessing game. We find the root cause, provide a technical report, and resolve the issue immediately.
