In the beauty industry, packaging is 50% of the product. A golden logo on a mascara tube or a silver ring on a lipstick cap signals luxury.
But stamping on plastic (rigid containers) is chemically different from stamping on paper.
Plastic surfaces like PP (Polypropylene), PE (Polyethylene), and ABS are non-porous. The foil cannot “soak in.” It must bond chemically.
At Only Imaging, we engineer specific foils for the cosmetic packaging industry that pass the strictest adhesion tests.
The nightmare scenario for any cosmetic brand is the logo peeling off in the customer’s purse.
The Cause: Using a “Paper Grade” foil on plastic. It won’t stick.
The Solution: Our Plastic Series Foils utilize a specialized adhesive layer designed to fuse with polymer chains when heated.
The Test: We perform a cross-cut tape test on every batch to ensure the logo stays put.
Cosmetic products (perfumes, creams, removers) often contain alcohol or oils. If a user has lotion on their hands and touches the gold logo, a cheap foil will tarnish or wipe off.
Only Imaging Standard: Our Cosmetic Foils are tested against 99% Alcohol and synthetic sweat to ensure the shine lasts as long as the product.
Different plastics need different foil formulations:
PP/PE (Soft Plastics): Used for squeezy tubes. Needs a flexible foil.
ABS / SAN (Hard Plastics): Used for compacts and lipstick cases. Needs a hard, high-gloss foil.
Acrylic: Used for luxury jars. Needs high heat tolerance.
Don’t let a peeling logo ruin your brand image. Ensure your packaging partner is using Only Imaging Cosmetic Grade Foil.
